Amber Expand into China

Amber Chemical Company (ACC) announced today that it is setting up a new manufacturing and distribution centre in China. The trading company known as Amber Silicones (Tianjin) Co Ltd will be based in Tianjin, an expanding hi-tech industrial area South East of Beijing. This forms the next step in the global expansion of the ACC Silicones group.

The new facility will initially manufacture a limited range of products required to fulfil specific customer needs. This facility will also be used to stock products currently marketed by Quantum Silicones, ACC Silicones Europe and Siovation in order to support their customers operating within the Far Eastern market.

Joachim Roeser, CEO of Amber said “For a number of years we have been evaluating the fast emerging Chinese market. It became very apparent that in order to service our international customers with manufacturing plants in the Far East, we were going to need a local presence. This move into China is clearly an integral part of our strategy to grow our specialty silicones business on a global basis.”
